Claude Code: Fable 5 Doesn't Show Up in /model

From Claude Code, the CLI tool you run from the terminal,

/model

running this doesn't show Fable 5 as one of the options. Here's how to work around that.

If you actually launch claude code and run /model, you'll see only three options: Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku.

Environment

• MacOS Thahoe 26.2（25C56）
• MacBook Air Apple M4 32GB
• Claude Version 2.1.153
• As of 2026/06/10

Fix

Select the model directly.

/model claude-fable-5

If your terminal shows

Set model to claude-fable-5 and saved as your default for new sessions

then it worked.

Can't select Fable 5 for Claude Code. It is shown on Claude Chat and Cowork but not on Code. Anyone else experiencing this?
